Katrin Eismann is a Photographer, Chair of the SVA Masters in Digital Photography and Sony Artisan of Imagery.  Pioneer in digital imaging and a well-regarded artist, author, and educator.

Early Life

She “received her BFA degree in Photographic Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and  MFA degree in Design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.”Eismann was discovered as a photographer as a teen however, she did not pick up a camera until her freshman year at Ithaca College.  She studied philosophy and politics at that college.With the frustrate of the sedentary, cerebral demands of these subjects, her roommate handed over a 35mm Minolta and told her to go out and take pictures.After living in the states for 25 years, Eismann went back to Germany with her parent. She was determined to complete her undergraduate degree. She decided that Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) was the best fit for her. She was accepted as a transfer student at the age 30, but she want to consider herself as a freshman.  After graduating from RIT in 1991, Eismann was hired for a position at the Kodak Center for Creative Imaging (CCI), in Camden, Maine through her friends from RIT.“[1][2]

Katrin Eismann is an internationally respected artist, teacher and author specializing in digital Photographer, image software.She is the Chair of the SVA Masters in Digital Photography and Sony Artisan of Imagery along with that she also holds the title as the co-author of Photoshop Restoration & Retouching, Photoshop Masking & Compositing, The Creative Digital Darkroom, and Real World Digital Photography, which has been translated into different languages for world wide distribution.[3]

For her remarkable work she was provided with different awards and honors. In 1991, she was honored as the Graduated Summa Cum Laude. Likewise in 1999 with the Silicon Graphics Computer Corp: Vanguards of Visual Computing Program. Additionally in 2005 she received  Photoshop Hall of Fame” and in 2015 Sony Artisan of Imagery.[4]
